On December 1, 2021, a total of 10,441 children were eligible to receive state deaf-blind project services. This is a decrease of 76 from the 2020 total of 10,517. The number of children served by state deaf-blind projects at any time during the year decreased from 11,407 to 11,330.

• 527 infants and toddlers (birth–2)
• 9809 children and youth (3–21)
• 74 (age 22) from states that provide services through the end of the school year in which students turn 22 years of age
• 31 (ages 23–26) from Michigan, which provides services up to age 26 for students who meet state eligibility criteria, and other states that have allowed compensatory services
